Eco- Poetry for saving the world

Introduction 

Poetry as a reform and a weapon for the eco-movement.  Poems always act  as a powerful weapon  in every types of reforms and movements, for many decades. 

In India, kaviguru Rabindranath Tagore, Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, Sarojini Naidu, Hasrat Mohani, Kazi Nazrul Islam, Subramania Bharati, Makhanlal Chaturvedi and other talented writers and poets inspired the Indians and the patriots, against the colonial system and to unite India against the Britishers. 

In France, Russuoe, Voltaire and many other poets inspired the French for awakening them against the rude political system of the selfish king, Louis XI. 

In Russia too, Alexander Pushkin, Irina, Marina, Anna Akhmatova and many other poets wrote poems against the Tsar rulers and Stalinist regime (as a  the terror) for the Russians. 

Since the ages, of movements and reforms, poetry has acted like a weapon and the most non-violent way to inspire the people against the evils and slowly, Poetry has become a part of us, rather than a literary form. 

What is Eco- Poetry ?

Poems that are dedicated to Mother Nature and protest against the natural degradation and protest against the pollution and other human-made evil actions, is called Eco- Poetry or Eco-poems. 

Even the short forms ( Haikus, Tankas, Senryus, Cinquins etc ) of Eco-poetry, will be powerful in the eco- movement. 

A Haiku against pollution and environment harm ( As a Sample ) 

Full Of honks on roads 

Breathing deteriorate

Can't hear the bird's songs.

( A Haiku is Japanese poetry form which have 5-7-5 syllables. The poems are non-rhyming and often does not have any titles but the first letter of every lines will be in capital. But, in english, for the poetic lisence, you can break any parameters and rules. So, nowadays, many ones are writting haikus without maintaining the syllables, and the parameters). 

The poems is a description of the urban traffic and the degradation of nature within only three lines. 

In the first line, it describes about the noise pollution where it is full of honks. In the second line, it describes the air pollution ( during the traffic ) and in the very last line it describes about the the impact on the nature ( which is basically harmful). 

Conclusion 

Here, I have written a haiku, but you can write any type of poetry like this. You can use the short forms of poetry ( Haiku, Tanka, Senryus, Cinquins, Shadorma etc ) or you can use long poetry types ( Odes, Free verses, Ballads etc ). Write any type of poetry for the environment and take part in the eco- movement ! ( An International movement )
